We were so happy and honored to know Joe. He was such a king and gentle person..a gentleman in every respect. He will be greatly missed, in our community, and at our Friday morning breakfasts. I had the privilege of growing up knowing Mr. Tag as a good friend to my parents. They often played cards together and I would try to squirrel my way into watching the game and be a part of the social dynamic. Later, when I applied to Virginia Tech with an interest in studying Chemical Engineering, I was at first deferred. Mr. Tag immediately wrote a recommendation for me and I received my acceptance a few days later. I am proud to say that I graduated 4 years later with a BS in Chemical Engineering. Now, just a few days ago, my own son has been accepted into Virginia Tech and he also plans to study engineering. All of this legacy due in part to Joe's help and example. He was truly a treasure and a good friend to both my parents and to me.
