Danka welcomed me to the N. J. Department of Health as my mentor. She was always patient, loyal and had a wicked sense of humor. She listened to my family troubles and tried to help. Always a treasure, she will be missed. I hope that her family can find some small comfort in the knowledge that Danka has lessened the emotional burden of others. She also had the most amazing hair, thanks to her daughter.

So true, I felt like Danka was a 2nd mother to me. Always treated kids with respect and talked to them like adults. She was there for me many times during some difficult times in hs, college and when I lost my dad. A great lady, beautiful person inside & out, she’ll be dearly missed.

Danka and I met many years ago and then she came to work with me. We shared many family stories and adventure. The thing that I will always remember is her strength and courage. When she was diagnosed with this terrible illness she never cried always strong and continued to work thru it all. The only time she cried was when she started losing her hair. She wore her wig that Danielle styled so beautifully that no one knew she was wearing a wig. We respected her privacy and never told other coworkers that she was ill when she said it was ok everyone was shocked because she looked so great. We both liked to shop at the loft and loved our jewelry. A couple of times we had the same outfit on lol. We could not convince a coworker that we were not sisters and I was often mistaken for her and vice a versa. Danka felt like a sister to me and I will miss her very much. God bless you all and I hope your memories bring you some comfort Adele

I met Danka and Joe around 1968 when they were a newly married couple and Joe took a teaching job in Iowa. As a 17 year old I found her to be exotic and glamorous. She had the best hair! Together they made a handsome couple whose warmth and friendship attracted others to them. They took me into their home in 1970 as a pregnant teen and helped navigate and guide a lonely, scared teenager. I have always loved them since then. She was a gift to all who knew her. My heart goes out to Joe and her family in this time of new grief, but oh how blessed to have had her as the matriarch of a loving family. Rest In Peace beautiful Danka.

Danka & I have been friends for over 30 yrs.
We enjoyed shopping, attending our daughters soccer games and mostly enjoyed a glass of wine together. She was much more then a friend, I thought of her more like a sister! I miss our monthly calls, she will be in my thoughts and prayers always..Miss you dear friend!
Rest in peace..Chris
