Obituary of William T. Carroll

Please share a memory of William to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

William “Bill” Carroll passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at Andover Subacute Center in Andover. He had shared 66 years of unconditional love, laughter, and amazing memories with family and friends.

Born in Jersey City to the late William and Isabelle Carroll, Bill was one of four children to bless the Carroll household. After graduating from Hasbrouck Heights High School, he went on to earn his Master’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy. Bill was a very intelligent man who held many prestigious positions in the medical industry as a professional and educator. As Director of Respiratory at Kessler Rehabilitation Center, Bill cared for actor director and activist Christopher Reeve during his rehabilitation. Bill also held various positions at NYU Open Heart, the Morristown Pediatric NICU and the Newton Memorial Medical Center Respiratory Department. On May 27, 1984 he married his best friend and soulmate, Diane Munro. Together they settled in Dingmans Ferry, PA and began a family of their own.

Bill loved fitness, camping, hiking the Appalachian trail and his outdoor excursions with his brother Scott. He was an avid Giants fan and loved all animals, especially his dogs Lady and Jake. Although we are deeply saddened by his passing, we take comfort in knowing we have the greatest guardian Angel watching out for us.

He leaves many joyful memories to his beloved wife of 36 years, Diane; his cherished daughter, Megan Carroll; his loving brother Scott Carroll and his wife Lisa, his brother Steven Carroll and his wife Kathy, his sister Debbie Winka and her husband Steve; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16th from 3 - 6 pm at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville. Memorial Donations are being accepted by way of www.inmemof.org. Please leave a condolence, light a candle, and share your favorite memory of Bill here to continue to celebrate the wonderful life he endowed with us.
