Obituary of Mary Trautmann
“A sunflower teaches us so much about love”
-Samrah Ahmad
Mary Catherine Quinn Trautmann passed peacefully on Friday, September 4th with her devoted husband by her side. She shared 45 years of strength and faith with everyone she met. A Celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, September 12th at 5 pm at the Norman Dean Home For Services, Denville. Memorial walkthrough visitation will begin at 2 o’clock that afternoon. As a Celebration of Mary's life all are encouraged to wear something green(Mary's favorite color), METS apparel or pro wrestling gear as these were some of Mary’s faves! In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the good work of www.strokecamp.com Or The Cedar Knolls Ambulance Squad.
Mary was born on a beautiful September day in 1974 to the late Donald and Mary Anne Quinn. She was raised in Cedar Knolls, attending Hanover schools and graduating from WPH in 1992 and later Morris County Vocational Technical School. She dedicated much of her time and talent to the Cedar Knolls Fire Department, which really became a second home. She loved being on the department and was always willing and able to help anyone. She was and always has been the nicest woman one could meet. Mary was easy to love and had great friends because of her kind and caring nature. After HS she took some courses before finding her niche as the secretary with VOTEC. She worked for them for 20 years and enjoyed it thoroughly. In 2001, she was blessed to meet Eric Trautmann and the rest was history. They fell in love and planned for their future together. God has a plan and surely He loved Mary. After her first two strokes just a month before their wedding, Eric has been her devoted and loving partner, husband, best friend, and care taker through thick and thin. They loved to travel and cruise together and they loved being home with their fur babies. Mary loved to try her hand at the slot machines or lottery, watch pro wrestling, cheer on her beloved NY Mets and she was an avid cross-stitcher, always making beautiful things. Although we are saddened by her passing, we take comfort in knowing that she is free from all pain and dancing in a beautiful sunflower field above.
Predeceased by her parents Donald and Mary Anne and her father in law George Trautmann; she leaves a lifetime of precious memories to her husband Eric Trautmann of 15 years. She is also survived by her mother in law Jane; brothers and sister in laws James Quinn (Sara), George Trautmann (Lisa), Glenn Trautmann (Stacey), Gregg Trautmann (Donna), Jayne Ann Struble (Wayne) and Robert Trautmann(Karen) many dear nieces and nephews and grand niece and nephew; her loyal pup and protector Cooper; adored felines Minnie, Gracie and Holly; and many more dear relatives and friends.
