Obituary of Mary A. Wagner

Please share a memory of Mary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Mary A. Wagner passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at The Chelsea at Montville. She had shared 95 years of love, laughter, and memories with family and friends.

Born and raised in Far Hills to the late Otto and Mary Nielsen. She married Francis J. Wagner, Sr. in 1940. After Francis was honorably discharged from active duty during WWII, they resided in the Victory Gardens. In 1945, Mary and her family relocated to their forever home in Denville.

A hard and dedicated worker, she participated in the war effort assembling aircraft parts at Piston Ring in Sterling. She had numerous odd jobs throughout the years, most recently as a Lunch Aide for the Morris Knolls-Morris Hills Regional High School District in Denville.

Mary took great pleasure in working outside in her flower garden. She also loved “Do It Yourself” projects which could be found all over the house. Above all, she was Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and friend. We take comfort in knowing she is now reunited with her husband and children, MaryAnne Peer, David Wagner, and Francis “Frank” Wagner, Jr..

A Memorial Mass to be scheduled at a later date. Memorial Donations are being accepted to the The National WWII Museum by way of www.inmemof.org. Please leave a condolence, light a candle, and share your favorite memory of Mary here to continue to celebrate the life she shared with us.
