Obituary of Diane F. Dunlap

Please share a memory of Diane to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Diane F. Dunlap passed away peacefully on Monday, July 6, 2020 at Boonton Care Center. Although she only shared 63 short years on this earth, she has left us with a lifetime of precious memories.

Born and raised in Denville to the late James F. Dunlap, Sr. and Ruth (Claffey) Dunlap, she had been a lifelong Denville resident. The youngest of five to bless the Dunlap household, she graduated from Morris Knolls High School before attending Kean University in Union. She had a very successful career at the ShopRite of Rockaway for many years. An avid sports fan, she adored watching Tiger Woods get a hole-in-one and never missed a Yankees game. Diane was a true adventurer; she and a friend spent six months driving across the country where they immersed themselves in many once in a lifetime experiences. At the age of 35, Diane crossed “riding in a hot air balloon” off her bucket list. Above anything else, her happy place was with her loved ones. She reveled in spending time attending many family picnics; taking photos; and talking about her Irish heritage. Although she was taken too soon, we are content knowing that she is out of pain and reunited with her parents, her sister, Delores “Dee” Dunlap Roth, and her treasured pets, Boots and Jack.

She leaves only joyful memories to her adored siblings, Jean Taylor, Jimmy Dunlap, and David Dunlap and his wife Kathy; her cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends and neighbors.

Memorial Visitation will take place on Friday, July 10th from 6 – 8 pm at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted in Diane’s name by way of www.inmemof.org to 11th Hour Rescue. Please leave a condolence, light a candle, and share your favorite memory of Diane here to continue to celebrate the incredible life she shared with us.
