I read about Dan's death in the Star Ledger. I am so sorry for your loss. He sounds like a wonderful husband and father. Death of a loved one is very distressing even if the person is elderly or sick. The Bible teaches us that death was not part of God's original plan. He wanted man to live forever, in perfect health, on a paradise earth. Man disobeyed God and brought about sin and death to the human race. God's plan will still be realized because nothing can stop his purpose and he does not lie. Isaiah 55:11 states, "So my word that goes out of my mouth will be. It will not return to me without results, but it will certainly accomplish whatever is my delight. It will have sure success in what I send it to do." The Bible talks about a resurrection of those who have died. (Acts 24:15, John 5:28, 29) The Bible account in John 11:1-44 details a resurrection Jesus performed and which gives us the certainty that the resurrection of our loved ones will occur. The word resurrection in the Bible literally means "a standing up again" and "revival of the dead". The provision for resurrection of the dead is a magnificent expression of God's undeserved kindness. It displays his wisdom and power and is a means by which his original purpose regarding the earth and humans will be carried out. There is such a wealth of hope and knowledge found in the pages of the Bible. Sincerely, Paula

My family has known Dan & the rest of the Snead family since our youngest daughter Danica & his youngest daughter Emma started playing youth soccer together when they were about 6 years old. It expanded to softball, then through middle school & high school as well. Our families remained close throughout these years & have had so many wonderful memories together. Dan was always so charming! He always put a smile on everyone's face with his fun demeanor, Our family will always remember him fondly, he will surely be missed by all. Here are just a few of the photos taken of Dan & other wonderful friends throughout the years.

I loved my brother-in-law. He always teased me and would say”Annie get your gun” I knew him for 49 years..that’s a lot of Danny...the world was a better place with him in it.
I spoke with him just one week ago and I told him I loved him and he said I love you too kid. He was a handsome, smart, funny, loyal and loving man. HE WAS A GOOD MAN.
There is an Eskimo Legend that my sister read at my son’s funeral.
“Perhaps they are not stars in the sky, but rather openings where our loved ones shine down to let us know they are happy. I will be looking in the sky for you Danny. He left me a wonderful gift in his Sherry, Kristen and Emma...and of course Will. I love them with my whole heart!
This one really hurts.

It was sweet knowing we could meet Kristen’s dad as they came to visit 2000WestCreek and to know he was able to attend a Flying Squirrel’s game. What an incredible love between a father and daughter. ~ Chris, Kristin and Lauren. Love for the family through this time and always.

Danny had a big heart, great wit, an endless sense of humor, and was an avid listener. He was stubborn, had his own definition of time, and was highly competitive. He, Sherry, Kristen, and Emma quickly became our family. I have fond memories of countless BBQs, fishing, boating/tubing adventures, and sunsets at Pond Lake, the births of Kristen & Emma, and countless birthday and holiday celebrations together. Danny was also my sponsor for my confirmation many moons ago. He always listened first, encouraged all questions, and let me find my own path. In my earliest of memories, Danny created a game called "Gotcha Last." It was a game of strategy and speed when our families would part ways. We would hug and say goodbye, and whoever could get the other last would proudly exclaim "gotcha last!" It was an epic battle over the years that was continued until his last days. He can finally rest easy knowing he got us all last! We love Danny. You will be missed! Your love & light will forever live on in all of us ❤️

We were proud to be members of the Mohegan tribe led by the character, Chief Silver Fox. Princess Angel and I, Bird Painter, loved our time together. And yes, Dan embraced his family. He was the one who kept us together and our meetings meaningful. Especially meaningful were our trips to Frost Valley where the girls ran wild until the last one fell asleep. They tired from serving us hard working menfolk with beers as we toiled into the night playing poker.
I was the tallykeeper, recording our activities. I'm not sure who has the book, but it would be nice to make copies of the notes and visual annotations for Sherry, Kristen and Emma.
Fran, Lauren and I have only fond memories and look forward to celebrating his life with you. As Fran says, "Fair winds and following seas." You'll always be the Chief.

I met Dan at the soccer field where our daughters played. It was only for a few years but the first time you met Dan you thought you knew him your whole life. He was easy to talk to, funny and devoted to his family.

It’s taken a few days for me to acknowledge Dan’s passing. In these difficult times with social distancing, it’s going to be impossible to come to any kind of closure for me, as I’m sure it will be for his family and friends. This is why I have been inspired to sit down and write this. Danny has been a great friend to me ever since high school and including our brief meetings in the Navy. We were both stationed in California for a time but not together. There were a number of years we didn’t have any contact with each other and it wasn’t until another dear friend, Debbie Dalton from RP, who got us all back together. In spite of those years apart, it took only a few minutes of meeting each other at the Grasshopper in Newfoundland on Rt. 23. All that time and we only lived twenty minutes from each other. It was like we never skipped a beat. We joked and reminisced over a “couple” of beers about a time growing up loaded with memories of both good and bad times. We were on totally opposite sides politically but that never interfered with our friendship. We always looked out for each other. No matter what, Danny would do anything for you without even having to ask. He was a strong and principled man of great integrity. I had the honor of meeting and getting to know his lovely wife and children. He was very lucky to have their support and love through their ordeal. I hope when things get better in this world, we can get together and celebrate his life. Until then, he is in our hearts and just think about all of the good times!

Sherry, Kristen and Emma - my heart goes out to you all at this most difficult of times; my heart breaks with yours. I remember Danny as a fierce competitor on the softball and football fields and when the games were over, always with a laugh and a smile. May he Rest In Peace and may you all find comfort in the love he shared with you.

After nearly 50 years of working together at Pru, playing softball together, drinking too many beers together, fishing together on trips to the St John's River, Lake Champlain, the Florida keys, and the Jersey Shore as well as gambling together at the Borgata in Atlantic City I will dearly miss my buddy Danny. Over that time we discussed our hopes and dreams, shared our trials and tribulations, sought each others advice on how to raise our kids, and concocted together the best excuses to get out of trouble with our loving spouses if they ever got wind of some of our misadventures. I will sorely miss Danny's camaraderie - the hours of time that I spent waiting for him to finish combing his hair until each strand was perfect - the tears he shed when the fishing guide told him he had to release the 5 pound smallmouth bass he just caught because it was out of season - arguing with him for over a year about why it was unreasonable for him to expect that CEO could actually get him into the bunker for the NASA Shuttle launch - listening to him say "What a country America!" whenever he won a big hand gambling. Yes I will miss all of those things, but most of all I will miss him! Thank goodness he left us Sherry, Kristen, Emma and Will so that we can get together and share our love of him and each other.Cheers Danny!

We had the pleasure of meeting the Snead family a couple summers ago when our boat konked out and we needed to tie up temporarily at their dock. Embarrassed at interrupting their weekend, Dan’s good humor and warmth put us immediately at ease. We are saddened by his passing and extend our sympathy and love to Sherry and the family. We had the honor and pleasure of knowing Dan for the past several years, when Will and Kristen found each other. While he was taken from us all far too early, we were truly blessed to have enjoyed his camaraderie, kindness, and great sense of humor. He lived life with honor and a big heart, and he battled courageously and with dignity these past months. May you rest in God’s peace, our friend – you’ll be missed more than words can express. I will always cherish the car pools to games in the early, early mornings as I tightly gripped my seat in the back as Dan-Dan would speed and weave in and out of traffic to get to the games on time! What a joy it was to spend so many weekends together watching our daughters play, working the concession stand and cutting up ALL that FRUIT! I will miss our meet ups at the bagel shop as we pretended we were exchanging drugs and arguments over who should pull over if someone is riding your bumper down green pond! LOL Fair Winds, my friend, you will be greatly missed. Betty
