Obituary of Berardino Squeo
Berardino “Benny” Squeo passed peacefully on Saturday, May 2, 2020. He shared 80 years of love with his family. Due to the pandemic Benny’s immediate family only may say their goodbyes this week. Please keep Benny and his family in your prayers. He will be buried at St. Cecilia’s Cemetery, across from Park Lake where he enjoyed walking with his wife often. Please share your memories here. His family will cherish them forever.
Benny was born in Molfetta, Italy and came to the US on April 26, 1956. After his schooling he began work as a mason. He met Marie DeCanio at a church dance and the rest was history. They fell in love, married and settled in Denville where they raised their four children. Benny worked hard to give his family a good life. He always wanted the best for them. He was certainly a likeable guy and people gravitated to him always. He had a great sense of humor and always made you feel welcome.
After his retirement from the County of Morris, he was able to spend more time getting away with his wife, bowling, and enjoying his beloved NY Yankees. His favorite time spent though was time with his family; especially his grandchildren. He was the proud Grandpa to Victoria, Andrew and Emily. Although we are broken hearted we are grateful for having had him bless our lives.
He leaves beautiful memories to his wife Marie of 57 years; his children Colette Liberatore and her husband Michael, Michele Squeo, Vito and Benny Jr.; and many more dear friends and relatives.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Benny's memory may be made to the good work of the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for WHO
