Rickey Edwards, 47, of Rockaway and Lake Hopatcong, NJ, passed away on February 29, 2008, at his home, after struggling with an illness that finally overtook him. A small family Episcopal service was held on 3/4/08. He deeply loved his family and his family loved him.
Rick was born in Duncan OK and grew up in Anadarko, OK. He was a graduate of the University of Texas and the Episcopal Theological Seminary of the Southwest, Austin, TX. He served churches in TX and NJ throughout his career. He always said I am from OK and Texas, but lived in NJ.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Imogene Rogers Edwards in 1985; and is survived by his wife of 24 years, Sharon Hurlbert Edwards; his son, Nathan Edwards, 18; his daughter, Kelsey Edwards, 15; his father, Delbert Edwards of Andarko, OK; his sister and brother in-law, Kim and Terry Mahorney of Cyril, OK; a sister and brother-in law in TX and 3 nieces and 4 nephews in TX and OK.In lieu of flowers, a contribution can be made to: Diocese of Northwest Texas, with Floyd Fund in the memo, with a note in memory of Rick Edwards, to the following address: Theological Education for the Dominican Republic, c/o Jane Dryden Louis, 4100 Edwards Mt.
