Obituary of Martin C. Kaufmann

Martin C. Kaufmann died on September 1, 2002 at Franciscan Oaks Health Care Center in Denville, he was 85 years old.
Born in Brooklyn, he had lived in Livingston, NJ for 40 years before moving to Denville 8 years ago.
He had served in the US Army during WWII, and was an insurance underwriter at Home Mortgage Company in New York City for 43 years before retiring in 1982.
He received a C.P.C.U. Designation from Penn State University in 1956. He was a YMCA Indian Guide, and local boy scout committeeman. He was a member and choir director for 40 years at the Livingston Baptist Church. He was the first president of the Livingston chapter of A.A.R.P., and was also their choir director. He became the choir director for the Choirs of the Oaks at Franciscan Oaks. He was also active in A.S.A. softball association for 35 years.
Surviving are his wife Mabel M. (Sloan), their son; Bruce Kaufmann, and three grandchildren; John, Jill, and Janine.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday September 28, at 2:00 PM at the Federated Church in Livingston, NJ. Donations can be made in his name to a charity of your choice.
