Robert Michael Scully died on Tuesday July 30, 2002 at St. Clares Hospital Denville, NJ. He was 75 years old. Mr. Scully was born in Manhattan, NY and moved to Denville, NJ 36 years ago. Mr. Scully was employeed as a Crane Operator for the New York City Dept. of Sanitation. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers. Mr. Scully was a WW II Coast Guard Veteran. He received numerous citations and awards in Denville, NJ. Bob was very proud of his Mini Bowl Award and volunteer of the Year award. His memberships were Knights of Columbus Our Lady of the Lakes Council 3359, VFW Post 5942, American Legion Post 390, Historical Society, and Memorial Day Committee. Bob was committed to his volunteering thru Make a Wish Foundation, St. Clares Hospital Harvest Festival, Meals on Wheels (MASH) Joey Bella Fund, Kids for Kids Holiday Show, Denville Little League, St. Marys Ushers, St. Marys Acolytes, Nocturnal Adoration Society, and involved with physical patterning a young girl. Bobs hobbies were being an avid Pool and Chess player teaching young people how to play both games. A Photography fan, he took numerous pictures of Denville and had some on display at different functions in town. Bob is survived by his wife of 48 years Mary E. Scully, Bob had five children Robin (Stephen) Fitzgerald, Kevin (Joan) Scully, Gregg M., Hugh J. Scully all of Denville, and Vicki J. Granzen of Mt. Arlington. Ten Grandchildren, Christine, Shaun, Kelly, Bobby, and Conor Fitzgerald, Jennifer, Laura, and Matthew Scully, Shauna and Jessica Granzen. A Brother James Scully of Toms River and a Sister Jean Scully of NYNY. A Liturgy of Christian Burial Service will be at 11:30AM at St. Marys Church Denville, NJ followed by interment Denville Cemetery. Friends will be received Friday 2-4 and 7-9PM. The family has requested that instead of flowers donations to Morris County Challenger Baseball League c/o Rueben Fuentes, 132 Jackson Ave. Rockaway Boro, NJ 07866 would be appreciated.
