Obituary of Roberta Jean Lutz

Roberta Jean Lutz Bobbie 68 died after a long illness on Friday February 21, 2003 at Saint Clares Hospital, Denville, NJ. She was the daughter of the late Edgar Freas and Lena York Freas.
Roberta was born in Absecon, NJ, she later lived in Newark before settling in Rockaway where she resided for the past 42 years.
Roberta attended and graduated in the class of 1952 at Pleasantville High School. She was an honors student at Glassboro State Teachers College. Subsequently, she taught grammar school students in Livingston, NJ before leaving to raise her family. Bobbie was actively involved in her husbands title abstract and title insurance business, where she served as secretary and treasurer.
Her careful attention to these callings continues to bless her children and grandchildren. She was active in Scouts as a Den Mother and as a Girl Scout Leader, also as a football, baseball, and band Mom and a Bingo worker at Morris Catholic High School. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed sewing, traveling and was an avid Raggedy Ann doll collector.
Bobbie is preceded in death by her sisters Mildred McCaughrean and Norma Towner.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Richard J. Lutz Sr. Her four children: Richard Jr. and his wife Linda of Succasunna, Robert and his wife LeeAnne of Scotch Plains, Ruthann of Pine Brook, and Rosanne of Hilton Head, SC. Also surviving are her beloved grandchildren: Nicholas, Johanna, Marlaina, Alton, and Maighread. Also survived by her Aunt Edyth Rothenbach of Smithtown LI, NY.
Funeral service at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ on Tuesday Feb. 25 at 10:00AM Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery East Hanover, NJ. Friends will be received Sunday 7-9 and Monday 2-4 and 7-9PM.
