Obituary of Margaret Mary Murphy

MARGARET MURPHY Margaret Dunne Murphy, age 96, died on January 20 in Ventura, Ca. while visiting the home of her daughter, Christine Engesser. Mrs. Murphy, a native of County Meath, Ireland, was a resident of Palm Beach, Florida. During her lifetime, she also resided in New York City, Hillside and Sea Bright, NJ and Greensboro, NC. Margaret came to the United States as a baby and was raised in New York City. She attended the Grace Institute in New York. In 1938 Margaret married the late James E. Murphy of Newark and moved to New Jersey. They raised their family of four children in Hillside, New Jersey. The children include: Rosemary Murphy Martin of Greensboro, NC, Kathleen Cloutier (Eugene) of Little River, SC; Thomas J Murphy (Deborah) of Dunkirk, NY and Christine Engesser (John) of Ventura, Ca. She is survived by seven grandchildren including: Erin Martin of Greensboro, NC; Randy Martin of Morganton, NC; Kathleen M. Cloutier of New Egypt, NJ; Michael Murphy of Angola, New York; Laura Caccamise of New York City, Margaret C. Engesser of Ventura and James M. Engesser of Ventura. Great grandchildren include Tyler Martin of Morganton, NC , Shane Murphy and Ciara Murphy of Angola, New York. She was predeceased by her grandson Shane Murphy of Dunkirk, New York and great-grandsons Matthew and Ryan Martin.
