Gladys Hyatt Veitengruber, 85, died Thursday, November 8 at Southgate Manor Christian Health Care Center, in Wycoff. Born in Jersey City, Gladys resided in Jersey City and Denville for over 50 years before becoming a year round resident of Indian Lake in 1973. She was a member of the 2nd Dutch Reform Church of Jersey City and attended St. Mary's RC Church with her many friends. She was a long time member of the Indian Lake Community Club and Denville Senior Citizens Club. She was a volunteer with St. Clare's Oktoberfest and Golf Outing and Denville Meals on Wheels. Gladys is predeceased by her parents Gladys and Thomas Hyatt, her devoted husband, George E. Veitengruber who died in 1992, her beloved sister Muriel Sullivan and her loving niece Joyce Barnish. She is survived by her son, George E. Veitengruber, Jr. and his wife, Suzanne of Howell, NJ; her daughter Jane Kleinsorgen, Baltimore, Maryland; her four grandchildren, Melissa V. Skrocki, Esq. and her husband Stephen of Manasquan, NJ; George E. Veitengruber III, Esq. and his wife, Heather of Bordentown, NJ; Chessa Hand and her husband, Steven, Baltimore, Maryland; and Jason Kleinsorgen, Baltimore,Maryland. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews: Thomas Sullivan and his wife Linda; Peter Sullivan, his wife Mary and their four daughters; Shaun Sullivan and his daughter, all of Huntsville, Alabama; Shannon Schweitzer, her husband, Joe and their daughter and two sons, Rockaway, NJ; and Stacy Barnish and her daughter, Rockaway, NJ Gladys loved participating in the many Indian Lake events, especially the King and Queen Parade and Fourth of July Boat Parade, sitting on the beach and traveling with her friends and family. She enjoyed visiting the Jersey Shore or New York to attend a play and dinner with her girlfriends. Funeral Services will be from the funeral at10:30am, Monday, November 12th, followed by internment at Restland Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ
