Harold K. Bird passed away at his home in Denville, NJ on July 19, 2007.
He was 81. years old.
Born and raised in Clifton, he has lived in Denville, NJ for 50 years.
He was a pilot in the US Navy during WWII, and retired after 30 years as Commander USNR.
Harold graduated from Newark College of Engineering and went to work as an engineer at Curtis Wright in West Caldwell, NJ before becoming self employed as an investment consultant associated with the Investment Consultants of NJ.
He was a board member and past president of Rock-Ridge Community club in Denville, and he enjoyed sailing at Deer Lake.
His brother Donald Bird predeceases Harold.
His wife of 53 years, Diane C. (Banks) of Denville, NJ survives him. His children Richard E. Bird of Wharton, NJ, David and wife M. Patricia Bird of Cincinnati, OH, and Gary M. Bird of Denville, NJ and two granddaughters also survive him.
Funeral services will be held at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ www.normandean.com on Sunday July 22, from 2-5PM. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
