Lola Alvarez, in her 91st year died on Sunday July 15, 2007 at the Holly Manor Center, Mendham, NJ.
Mrs. Alvarez was born in Galica, Spain and came to the United States in 1919. She was a resident of Dover, Randolph, NJ, Vero Beach, Fl. and Hackettstown, NJ. Mrs. Alvarez was employed at Dover General Hospital, Newton Memorial Hospital and Vero Beach Hospital doing Clerical work retiring 25 years ago. She enjoyed Jazz and the Blues, singing and was a novice oil painting artist, and had her paintings reviewed at the Warren County Senior Citizens Art Show with recognition in winning the Warren County art contest.
Her husband Phillip Alvarez in 1981 and her son Robert Alvarez in 2004 and daughter in law Patricia in 2007 predeceased Mrs. Alvarez.
Her children; Frances Lowry and her husband Frank of Denville, Phillip Alvarez of Blairstown, Manuel Alvarez and his wife Rosemary of Summerville, SC, grandmother of five grandchildren and five great grandchildren, sister of Manuel Naveira of Laurel, De, and Balbina Konyak of Rockaway, NJ survive Mrs. Alvarez.
The funeral service will be conducted on Thursday July 19th at 10:00am at the Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Avenue, Denville, NJ www.normandean.com . Relatives and friends will be received on Wednesday July 18th from 2-4pm. The family suggests in lieu of flowers in memory of her son and daughter in law Robert and Patricia Alvarez donations be sent to Carol G.
