Al was one of the first people I met at the United Methodist Church at Mount Tabor. He was the kindest, most down to earth person I knew, yet he had some great stories of his service; he was a Marine to the end.
I will truly miss seeing him at church.

How do you sum up a lifetime of love in a few words?
A father and daughter have a special relationship and ours was one of the best. You made me feel safe Dad. You and Mom gave Sharon & I a happy home to grow up in. You gathered around us many friends and family to provide us with such happy memories. They are now with us to provide love, comfort and support. You were loved by so many. I know you would be amazed at the many people you touched with that smile of yours.
I love you Dad. You are my hero and will be always.

I know you'll watch over all of us- I love you and will miss you- but you will never be forgotten.

His knowledge and wisdom can never be replaced. He was a great man; who would do anything for anyone he knew. You always knew were you stood. I know he has answered his last and final call. Al is in heaven watching down over all of us with that unforgettable smile. He will be deeply missed by many, but never forgotten. Fond memories will live in everyones hearts. It was a honor to have known him. My deepest sympathy to Ruth, Sharon, Jackie, and the rest of the family.

I first met Al and Ruth when I visted the Wescott family in NJ about 1959. They were nearby neighbors in Mt Tabor. We were all so young. Allan and my brother-in-law Roy used to go shopping for gifts on Christmas Eve in MorrisTown for their wives. They usually had a few Beverages? and would buy some things that had to be returned!! I have always felt a part of the Blazure extended family.I will miss Allan always as I never missed the opportunity to see them throughout the years when I visted NJ from my home in CA. I also remember their adventures into home improvement and chuckle! Wish I could be there with his family and friends today to honor his memory. Love, Anne

Uncle Allan,
Our visits were frequent in years of the past
Happy times and great memories in my heart that will last
Our visits of late were few and far between
But when the family got together a lot it did mean
It was over a year ago when we last visited with eachother
At a 75th birthday party all together for my mother
We shared some time with a few laughs on that day
A couple words to you now I would like to say....
I Love You a lot....I hope you do know and
You will be missed....very much so!!!
God Bless You!!!

Dear Pops: I want to tell you how much I love and appreciate allowing me, no welcoming me, to be part of your very extended family. Through your humor, compassion, and integrity that family is far reaching and includes so many. Thank you for stepping in when I lost my own Dad and you were there to fill the void. Your lifelong service to your country, family, friends, community, & church is testament to your character. I keep hearing you say Hi Mere, Luv ya Mere. I think of all of us cooking together, playing dominoes together, and you and Ruth reading volumes of books! You have always showered all of us with so much warmth, happiness, limitless love & support. We move forward saddened by our loss but knowing we will try to live by your example. All of us will carry you in our hearts forever.

My Grandfather was many things, to many people. Whether you knew him as Pop, Dad, Uncle Al or as the few who were entitled, just "Charlie". He lived a full life and was a Man in many respects. Military Man, Pressman, Fireman and most of all Family Man. Deep down I believe he was a very proud individual eventhough he would never brag or boast. He was proud of his life and that of which he accomplished. Most of all I think he was proud of his family and the many people who had become his friends over the years, alway showing them great respect and love. There will be many mental images i will retain and remember fondly of my Grandfather. Right now I'm picturing him sitting in a lawn chair at the shore while everyone is rushing around trying to get things together for a day on the beach. In the middle of it all lost in a book with his shirt open displaying his gold chain and Marine Corp. medalion, shorts and dock shoes on...and of course, nursing the first beer of the day.
Pop, I will remember you always and love you forever.

Most of my memories of Allen were formed in our childhood days. My dad & mom would visit his family in East Orange each year, and Allan was the one I looked forward to seeing. One year I asked if he could come back to Maine with us, but he was just getting over a bad cold so his doctor said no. His excuse was that even in August, it would be too cold for Allan. I made it quite clear that I didn't think that doctor was particularly smart. Fortunately, my opinion of doctors has improved over the years, for the most part.

I can only add on to my parents sentiments of so many, many happy memories. My godparents--Ruth and Al have always been like my second mother and father and I love them dearly. "The dipper" will be missed on every occasion but our memories--from camping together on "Dragstone" on the Delaware to Lake George, to the Outer Banks and every place in between. All of our wonderful times at Ocean Beach and our "cottages", the yearly Christmas Eve celebrations we spent all of my life, our families getting together for important occasions--our road trip to North Carolina for Jay's wedding--where do I stop? We were always there for each other in bad times and good times and we always will be. We will miss him so much, but knowing that his wonderful attitude in life and the fun he had living and knowing he is at peace and with friends who have passed and with my sister, Jolynne, who is probably wondering if he brought any snacks with him--goldfish, Charles Chips, or soda. Then, of course, Grandma D probably wouldn't approve. We LOVE YOU SO MUCH AND YOU WILL ALWAYS BE IN OUR HEARTS FOREVER.
