Richard E. Emrich, 83, died on Friday November 9, 2012 at Saint Clares Hospital Denville, NJ.

He was born and raised in Phoenixville, PA and had lived in Rockaway Twp, NJ for the past 47 years.
During the Korean War he was in the Army Reserves.
Dick always had a passion for automobiles and those who knew him best would say he knew them inside and out and could repair a car engine with his eyes closed! He graduated from General Motors Institute in 1949 and started out his career as an apprentice mechanic at Wes Cage Buick in Phoenixville under the guidance of his mentor Charlie Wunderly. He worked for several car dealerships until 1962 when he was hired as Service Representative for Studebaker/Mercedes Benz Corp. In 1964 he made the move to GM/ Buick Motor Division again as Service Rep. During his 30 years with General Motors he held a variety of positions including Owner Relations Mgr and Instructor at the GM Training Center. After his retirement, Dick continued to work as a consultant overseeing GM auctions until 2008. His love of cars was his hobby as well as his vocation. He was a member of the Buick Club of America and the Antique Automobile Club of America.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Doris, his daughters Linda Channell and Nancy Emrich, his grandchildren Sean Channell, Charlotte Channell, Sgt. Justin Webb, Shannon Webb, Olivia Post, and his great-grandchildren Benjamin & Madelyn Webb.
He is also survived by his brother Robert Emrich and sister Carol Burkhardt and predeceased by his brothers Russell Emrich, Jr. and Raymond Emrich.
Dick was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. A wonderful family man, who was an example to his family and extended family as well.
A memorial service will be held at the Baptist Church in Phoenixville, PA at a future date.
