Beloved Wife
Helen Papp Morse passed away on Monday April 2, at Atlantic Hospice at Care On at Madison, Morristown, NJ after a short illness. Her final days were spent with her family by her side. She was 82 years of age.
She was born in Wharton on April 22, 1924 to Hungarian immigrants Bertalan and Julianna (Paloczy) Papp.
Upon graduating from Wharton High School in 1941 she went to Centenary Junior College in Hackettstown. She then attended the Eastern School of Physicians Aids, in New York City, June 1944. She met the love of her life, Allan Donald Morse at the Acadia Ball Room in Manhattan while he was on shore leave from the Navy and they married on July 28, 1945. They settled in Parsippany where they raised their two children.
Helen served as a volunteer at Riverside Hospital in the 1950s and was a member of the Eastern Star.
After 25 years working as Tax Cashier for the Township of Parsippany-Troy Hills she retired in 1976. Mrs. Morse and her husband spent 27 years between their residences in New Jersey and Florida.
Helen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend and has left love and joy in the hearts of all who knew her. She loved to travel, entertain friends, sit out in the sun, play scrabble and was a voracious reader.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 61 years, Allan Donald Morse of East Hanover; her Son Craig Morse of East Hanover; her daughter Deborah and her husband Joseph Scala of Mt.Tabor; her grandson Kevin Morse and his wife Josephine of Succasunna; her granddaughters, Sarah Scala of Denville and Cynthia Scala of Mt. Tabor, her sister Ethel Papp Hull, and her niece Sandra Hull Sbaldigi.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Helens wonderful caregiver Marva Llewellyn for her love, caring and friendship, the professional and compassionate health care givers at the Parsippany Dialysis Center, Morristown Memorial Hospital and Atlantic Hospice who gave such good care and concern to her.
A memorial; service will be held on Saturday, April 14th at 2:00pm at the United Methodist Church at Mt. Tabor, Simpson Avenue, Mt. Tabor, NJ.
