Obituary of James Elliott

James Elliott Jr. passed away at his daughters home in Rockaway Township, NJ on August 27, 2005. He was 79 years old.
Born in Morristown, he had lived in Denville, NJ his entire life.
He had served in the Navy on the U.S.S. Whitney AD4 Destroyer Tender during WWII.
James had worked as a foreman for Moretrench American Corporation in Rockaway, NJ for 40 years before retiring in 1991.
He was an avid outdoorsman and hunter & fisherman. He loved his hunting trips to NY and Vermont, and loved to fish in local lakes and reservoirs. He also enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved trips to Atlantic City, and the reunions with his buddies in the Tin Can Sailors. His hobby was working with stained glass.
James is survived by Virginia Elliott and his children Sandra (& Douglas) Medaugh of Rockaway Twp., Debra (& Richard) Norris of Denville, and Pamela (& Robert) Squire of Rockaway Twp., NJ. His grandchildren Carrie and Adam Medaugh, Jessica and Amanda Crothers, Robert III and Kevin Squire, and Rikki Leigh Norris also survive him. His siblings William of Denville, Charles of Bonifay, FL, and Henry of Marshalls Creek, PA, and Charlotte Garcia of Hemet, CA also survive him.
Funeral will be held at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ www.normandean.com on Monday August 29, at 2:00PM. Friends may visit prior to the service from 12:00 2:00PM.
