George L. Lewis III passed away at the NJ Fireman's Home in Boonton, NJ on November 1, 2012, at the age of 87.
Born in Dover he had lived in Denville, NJ for 51 years before moving to Boonton in 2011.
George was a graduate of the University of VA and worked for 37 years as a Management Analyst and Employee Relations Specialist for Picatinny Arsenal (Department of the Army) before retiring in 1985.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII and was a former Captain of the Hibernia Volunteer Fire Department in Rockaway Twp., NJ.
George is survived by his wife of 56 years, Elizabeth J. (Shaw) Lewis of Denville, NJ. He is also survived by his children Linda (& Allen) Spiegelberg of FL, George L. (& Lisa) Lewis IV of Randolph, and Lisa (& Adam) Jaffe of Manahawkin, NJ. His 5 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchild also survive him.
Graveside services under the direction of Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834 will be held on Thursday November 15, 2012 at 11AM at Denville Cemetery in Denville, NJ.
