Aunt Pat was a cheerful, fun-loving aunt who was full of life and love. Her smile could light up a dark room. Her hearty laughter was infectious and she made everyone around her feel happy. Whether it was a funny joke, her wonderful attitude, or her great big smile, Aunt Pat was a delight to be around. In the presence of my father, they were peas in a pod; always laughing and joking and reminiscing about days of old. The two of them together meant we’d laugh until our bellies ached! I loved those days.
I will miss my Aunt Pat dearly; I will miss that laughter and her sweet nature. I will miss her incredible interest in our lives and how she always made me feel special. I know that heaven is filled with loved ones that are looking down on all of us and smiling. Heaven gained a new angel this week to watch over us and keep us safe. It’s because of all of our angels we are here and we are family…how incredibly lucky are we?
Today I was showing our son, Jack, a beautiful fall tree splattered with bright yellow leaves…Aunt Pat’s favorite color. Just above that tree was an upside down rainbow, an obvious grin from the heavens…a familiar smile we know and love so much. Rest in peace, Aunt Pat; I’ll be looking for that smile again and again! We love you…more! XOX

Some seek wealth, some seek greatness. Pat did neither yet achieved both. In the wealth of Love from her family and friends, thru the greatness of her spirit.

Growing up with the Mitchell girls was wonderful. We had such a good time and had a great Church family. Pat always had such a great smile and enjoyed her friends at the First Presbyterian Church of Forest Hill. She was a good sport too. I have a feeling that my mom talked her into doing the Can Can in costume with her and Mel Calahan. I can still picture this and I am sure you can too. She will be missed by all who knew her.
