John "Jack" McAteer, passed away on Friday, August 22nd surrounded by his family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 27th at 10 am at St. Mary's RC Church, Myers Avenue, Denville. Interment to follow at Denville Cemetery. Visitng hours will be held on Tuesday, August 26th from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Norman Dean Home For Services, 16 Righter Ave, Denville. Born in 1944 in Bronx, NY, he was married for 50 years to Louise (nee Conway). Together they raised three children in Denville, NJ. Jack retired from the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 15, where he worked for over 50 years.
He was the loving father of the late Michael McAteer. He is survived by his wife Louise; sons John (Carol Siegrist-McAteer) and Chris McAteer; his three grandchildren Jessica, Ryan and Rebecca McAteer; brother Walter; sister Sally McAteer; and many more loving rleatives and friends. His sister Maureen and brother Edward preceeded him in death.
