Stefan Golda, 77, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 21st with his loving family by his side. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 25th at 11:30 am at St. Cecilia's Church, Rockaway. Interment to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Linden. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Norman Dean Home For Services, 16 Righter Ave., Denville. Stefan was born in Elizabeth, NJ to the late Boleslaw and Stefania. He was the eldest of four boys growing up in the family home. After his schooling, he enlisted in the US Air Force, where he proudly served his country. During his service time, he played saxophone and clarinet in the Air Force band. He continued his playing and enjoying music throughout his life.
Steve was an exceptional carpenter. He owned and operated his own construction company for many years before his retirement in 2002. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council # 514 in Dover, where he served as Grand Knight from 2004–2006 and was a member of the 4th Degree. He was an active member of St. Cecilia's Parish for over 48 years. Years ago, he volunteered his time as Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 147, St. Cecilia's, a role which he thoroughly enjoyed. Above all, he loved spending time with his family.
Surviving is his loving wife Georgian of 48 years; his children Anthony (Astrid), Sharon Dietrich (Michael), and Janine O'Brien (Dennis); his adoring grandchildren Michael and Kristyn Dietrich and Sarah, Anthony Jr. and Alexandra Golda; brothers Stanley and William; and many more loving relatives and friends. His brother Eugene died previously.
