Obituary of Mary A. DeCesare
Please share a memory of Mary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mary DeCesare, a resident of Denville for more than 40 years, bid farewell to this living world on June 14, and passed onto the spirit side where she was joyfully greeted by many loving family members and friends.
Born in New York and raised in Brooklyn; she then moved to Paramus where she raised her family and was an active leader with the Girl Scouts and managed a women's clothing store. Later she moved to Denville in 1972, and started an antique business, Cesare's Treasures, with her husband Bill. Together, they loved to travel throughout the country in their Winnebago and toured internationally. She loved entertaining, playing cards, Bingo and going to Atlantic City to gamble.
Mary will always be fondly remembered as the vivacious past President and Vice President of the Denville Senior Citizens. She was a driving force in the organization and planning of the Denville's Senior Housing complex, and a strong force on the Silver Brigade, an organization supporting the freezing of property taxes for seniors. She was a voice of the senior citizens through her column in the Denville Citizen for many years.
Of all of her accomplishments, her greatest passion and love was her family. She was the shining light of the family, the life of the party and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her loving daughters and son-in-laws, Bernadette deCesare and Robert Morello, Karyn Saar, and Jonine and Mark Lester; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Friends may visit on Tuesday June 17, 2014. From 2-4PM at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834.
