Obituary of Wimberly C. Mohos

Please share a memory of Wimberly to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Wimberly Carter Mohos of Kinnelon NJ, native of Montgomery and Ozark AL, passed away two months short of her 69th birthday on September 23 2012. After Sidney Lanier High School where her friends knew her as Sister (of Helen "Ceci" Carter) Wimberly studied cello at the University of Alabama and at the Manhattan School of Music, and performed in the American Symphony Orchestra under Leopold Stokowski. She married Istvan Mohos violinist in 1970 and gave birth to son Quentin in 1973 while the couple served as Artists in Residence at Concord College Athens WV. In 1980 the family returned to the New York area so Wimberly could get a renal transplant of her sister's kidney. Wimberly then went back for her Master of Computer Science degree at Fairleigh Dickinson University, and worked at Lucent (Bell Labs) as a computer specialist until her retirement in 2001. Bright light, cherished friend, touchstone of courage and grace - though no longer among us, Wimberly lives in our hearts, in our memories, in the dreams of all who were privileged to know her. Donations in Wimberly's memory to the Lupus Foundation of America www.lupus.org would be greatly appreciated.
