Obituary of Mildred E. Ronlund

Mildred E. Ronlund Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother Mildred E. Ronlund, 86, passed away following a short illness on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at the Heath Village Retirement Community, Hackettstown, New Jersey. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Mildred first moved to Lake Telemark, Rockaway Township as a child when her parents purchased a summer home in the community. Mildred was the beloved wife of Lutz Ronlund who died in 1994. She is survived by her sons Don and daughter-in-law Kathy, Walter and daughter-in-law Mary, and her grandson, Michael-Erik Ronlund. She was the only daughter of Waldemar and Berglioth Seldal. Mildred moved to Lake Telemark full-time in 1952 with her family. After sending her sons to grade school Mildred went back to school for nursing and became a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). She worked at Dover General and Saint Clare's hospitals for many years. She was one of the founding members of Lake Telemark's Cub Scout Pack 17 and was active in that organization for several years. Mildred was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Mildred continued to live in her home in Lake Telemark until 2012 when she moved to the Health Village Retirement Community. Visitation will be held at the Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville, N.J. 07834 on Wednesday, May 7 between 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 8, at the Norman Dean Home for Services, followed by interment beside her husband at the Union Church of Marcella Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made in Mildred's name to the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 508 Green Pond Road, Rockaway, NJ 07866.
