Obituary of Michael O'Brien
Michael O’Brien passed away tragically on Tuesday, July 4, 2017. He had just celebrated his 49th birthday.
Born to the late Michael D. O’Brien and Bernadette Schmidt, he was a resident of Jersey City. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from St. Peter’s University and went on to become Senior Property Accountant for Panco Management Corporation in Rochelle Park. Michael was an outdoors man that lived his life to the fullest. He enjoyed traveling, has been to most of Europe, but was especially fond of taking trips to Maine. Michael also relished working out, watching the Devils, MMA, and horror movies, especially Evil Dead. Michael will always be remembered for his sense of humor, generous soul, and caring personality. He was a devoted Uncle to his nephews. Although he was taken from us too soon, he has left us with a legacy of love, laughter, and compassion that will be in our hearts for an eternity.
Left to continue his legacy are his beloved sisters, Anne-Marie O’Brien, Jennifer O’Brien Battles, and Maureen O’Brien; his loving nephews, Henry LaCarrubba, Brendon Battles, Liam LaCarrubba, and Kyle Battles; his cherished fiancee, Maya-Christina Vartiainen; his loyal pup, Ash; and many other extended family and friends. He will forever be missed and remembered.
Cremation will be private. Family and friends may visit on Sunday, July 9 from 1-3 pm at the Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville. A prayer service will begin at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Michael’s memory to the Susan G. Komen Foundation by way of www.inmemoryof-memorial.org. Please leave a condolence and special memory for his family.
