Obituary of Fred Abline

Frederick “Fred” Abline, Jr. passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Troy Hills Center in Parsippany. He was 86 years young.
Born and raised in Newark, he has been a longtime Parsippany resident. Fred proudly served our country in the United States Army for 6 years, serving in the Korean War. He then went on to serve in the National Guard for over 25 years, before officially retiring from the Military. Fred continued to work earning the title of Bakery Supervisor after working for 23 years at Wakefern Food Corp., ShopRite, in Elizabeth. His last career lasted 13 years and it was at Bunzl Distribution. He was a member of the Denville American Legion Post #390 and Troy-Hills Memorial VFW #10184. Fred was an extremely hard worker and passed on this dedication and value to his beloved family, that he adored.
Predeceased by his siblings, George (the late Mary), James, and Pat McManus, left to keep his legacy alive is his beloved wife of 62 years, Virginia “Ginny” Abline; his loving children, Rick (Donna) Abline, Bob (Kathy) Abline, and Bill (Sue Haight) Abline; his cherished grandchildren, Ricky (Erin) Abline, Katie (Robb) Roncoroni, Sarah Abline, Kristin Abline, and Bobby Abline; his treasured great-grandchildren, Brooke and Audrey Abline; his caring siblings, Ronald (Dolores) Abline, John (Meylan) Abline, Thomas (the late Marie) Abline; his in-laws, Diane Abline, Fred McManus, the late Tina (Ray) Martin, Jackie (John) Hynes and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Public Visitation will take place on Thursday, April 20th from 4 – 8 pm at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 21st at 11 am at St. Peter the Apostle Church, 179 Baldwin Rd, Parsippany, NJ 07054. Entombment will follow at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover. Memorial Donations can be made in his memory to his grandson’s unit in the U.S. Army by way of www.inmemoryof-memorial.org.
