Obituary of Leo "Pop" George Wiener

Leo George Wiener, of Fair Lawn, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, October 2, 2015. He was 84 years old.
Leo was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. He attended classes at New York University for Computers. Leo was a very hard worker and took pride in his work as a Software Specialist for the US Army at Fort Monmouth, retiring after 35 years in government employ. He was a pioneer in Data Processing. Leo also was very proud of his travels that were associated with his career in government employ. After retirement, he volunteered at Hackensack Hospital for many years. Prior to his experience in government employ, he was in Wall Street in Banking for 13 years, which followed his honorable active duty service in the United States Navy. A 4th Degree Knight and noble member of Knights of Columbus #0658, he was a Devout Catholic. Leo's main source of gratification in life came from his family and his faith. Leo was an admirable man that will be remembered with a smile from all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Leo is now reunited with his beloved soulmate, Betty Wiener who passed in 1999. Left to keep his legacy alive is his adored son, Leo Gerard Wiener; his cherished granddaughter, Stephanie Wiener; his devoted sister, Mary Wiener; and many cousins and relatives throughout the country.
Liturgy of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, October 7th at 9:30 am at St. Mary's R.C. Church, 15 Myers Ave., Denville, NJ 07834. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY. Friends may visit from 2-4 & 7-9 pm on Tuesday, October 6th at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Ave., Denville. Please leave a condolence for his family.
