Rose M. D’Amato Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother Rose M. D’Amato, 96, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2015 in her residence at Sunrise at Randolph. Rose was born on July 6, 1919 in Orange, New Jersey and was one of seven daughters of Carmine and Madeline Ricciardelli. Rose was predeceased by her husband, Samuel M. D’Amato, who she met, and fell in love with, while attending high school in Orange, New Jersey. They married in 1945 and started their family in 1946. They had four children. Her eldest son, Raymond D’Amato, passed away earlier this year. Rose is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Ronlund; her sons Samuel and William D’Amato; and her grandson William Squier. Rose was a self-taught artist who enjoyed drawing and painting from her teen years through her late eighties. She was also an avid gardener who delighted in collecting various flower specimens from wherever she traveled and making them a part of her home’s landscape. Rose was also known for her love of dancing and her engaging sense of humor. Her inviting personality turned new acquaintances into good friends wherever she went. She loved life and each new experience it brought for her. Rose’s life will be remembered and celebrated at the Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville, New Jersey 07834 (www.normandean.com) on Thursday, October 1 between 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Church, 15 Meyers Avenue, Denville followed by interment services at Gate of Heaven, East Hanover, New Jersey.
