Josephine G. Hogan (nee Lovell), 1923 - 2015
Josephine Hogan was born on April 10, 1923 in Glasgow, Scotland to Joseph Alfred Lovell and Brigid (Dowdall) Lovell, both of County Dublin, Ireland. "Josie" was the youngest of thirteen children, of whom four boys and two girls did not survive infancy. Her other brother and sisters, who would later predecease her were James Watson Walls Lovell, Mary (May) Dooley, Anna (Cissie) McCarthy, Eileen Kilroy, Julia Reilly, and Rosanna (Rose) Martin.
Josie was raised in Glasgow and it was there that she married James Joachim Hogan, RIP (1917 - 1984) of Kilmacrennan, County Donegal, Ireland. The Hogans had 4 children, Brigid (Bridie) Mary Hogan Cole deLime, RIP (1942 - 2011) and James Joseph Hogan, RIP (1947-2003) predeceased their mother. She is survived by Catherine (Kathleen) Johanna Hogan Chevalier of Hudson, NH and Frank Hogan of FL. Josephine has 2 daughters-in-laws, Susan Brady Hogan and Mary Michalski Hogan, and a son-in-law, Paul Chevalier. Josephine's other two sons-in-law, Frank H Cole and Thomas deLime are deceased.
Jo Hogan was blessed with many grandchildren. They are Frank Cole of Middletown, NJ and his wife Mary Alice, Maura Cole McCormack of Ft. Wayne, IN and her husband John, Colleen Cole Perry of Denville, NJ and her husband Kevin, Cora Hogan of Hackettstown, NJ and her partner Wes Kerr, Patty Hogan of Lake Hopatcong, NJ and her partner Frank Deversa, Tom Moseley of Austin, TX and his wife Chelsea, and Anastasia, Jimmy, and Danny Hogan of FL.
"GG" Hogan is survived by great grandchilden Margaret and Aidan Cole, Matthew, Braden, Morgan, and Brigid McCormack, Shane and Ethan Perry, Wyatt and Madeline Rydlewski, Douglas and Andrew Hogan, Deanna and Joshua Ardito, and Lauren, Travis, and Davis Moseley. Her only great great grandchild is Jacob Ardito.
Three of her grandchildren - Heather Cole Rydlewski, Jo Ellen Cole and Jimmy Moseley, as well as one of her great grandchildren - Jo Anna McCormack, were waiting to greet her in heaven.
"Aunt Josie" had many nieces and nephews on both the Lovell and Hogan side that she spoke of often with much love.
The two things in life that were most important to Josie were her family and her God and she lived her life in a way that honored both. Her life will be celebrated at Norman Dean Funeral Home in Denville from 6 - 8 p.m. on Aug. 27 and at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Denville at 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 28th.
