Obituary of Margaret Evelyn McDougall-Saunders

Margaret (VanWinkle) McDougall-Saunders passed away at her home on August 6, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on November 28, 1924 in Orange, NJ, and spent her younger years in East Orange, Maplewood, and Mount Tabor. She graduated from Boonton High School in 1942. In 1943 Margaret married Alfred McDougall. They built a house together by hand in Rainbow Lakes, where she raised her family and lived the rest of her life. She worked at Prudential in Newark, Boonton Molding, and the Rockaway Valley Regional Sewer Authority. After her first husband pre-deceased her, she married Lynn Saunders in 1998 who later also pre-deceased her.
She is survived by her adoring children, Karen Dwyer, Susan McDougall, Steve McDougall, and Dorothy Smith and their spouses; her cherished grandchildren, Thomas and Darin Dwyer, Mark and Christopher Hatfield, Michael and Kyle McDougall, and Evan Smith; her admired great-grandchildren, Taylor Elizabeth Dwyer-Barker, and Madeline Hatfield; her caring step-children, Greg Saunders, Jody Saunders, and loving step-grandsons Joel and Jordan Saunders. Margaret was pre-deceased by her brother John, her step-daughter Sharon Saunders and her beloved grand-daughter Erin Smith.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 12th from 4 – 7 pm at Norman Dean Home for Services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rainbow Lakes Community Club, P.O. Box 277, Denville, NJ 07834. Please leave a condolence and special memory for her family.
