Dear Grandma,
I remember when Matthew and I were little and we used to come over your house every Easter. I looked forward to the Easter egg hunt you and Grandpa set up every year! I remember how we used to come over every Christmas, too, and how we used to help you decorate the tree. And how you spoiled us with mountains of presents Christmas morning, and how you always prepared the most delicious foods and baked goods for our family gatherings. I always enjoyed the greeting cards you sent on birthdays and special occasions with family photos enclosed...I have saved many of them and will look back at them when I am thinking of you. The holidays this year will not be the same without you. I love you and miss you already,
-Rachel

Dear Schiavone Family, I am so sorry about your loss. Mrs. Schiavone was one of the most sweetest and caring people that I have been blessed to have met in my life. Yes, those wonderful times spent talking daily at the G.U. over the years - what cherished memories she has left for us! Anthony, you are spot on. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

When I go to Peddlers Village, a place my Mom loved to visit, there is an item in one of the shops that always makes me think of her. It’s a small engraved metal plaque which describes the rules for happiness with the words “free your heart from hatred, free your mind from worries, live simply, give more, expect less”. She lived a simple and giving life which nurtured many wonderful and loving friends. My Mom was most generous with her family and was always busy inventing new ways to spoil her grandchildren. She never expected to receive anything in return for her generosity. Her life was built around everything listed on the plaque except for keeping her mind free from worries. I always thought about getting this plaque for my Mom as a reminder not to worry so much but I doubt it would have made much of a difference. She worried constantly about everyone but herself. I often told her that she worries too much and much of the time it was worrying about me (especially during my younger years). So now Mom you have no more worries and I know you have found final happiness at a better place. We will miss you dearly. Love Anthony.
