Dear Mr. Giamo, Lisa & Family....Our family was so sad to hear of "Aunt Theresa's" death. She was an "Aunt" to so many of the neighborhood kids growing up in Cedar Lake. Cherish the memories. Now she is reunited with Eileen and Stephen

So many wonderful memories of Aunt Theresa who adored us and treated us as one of her own. She would tell me when I was little that every time she got paid she would buy me a book or toy from the local shop. Pretty soon she ran out of choices. Lucky me! I always admired the picture of Rock Hudson that she kept on her bureau next to Uncle Frank's. I remember visiting her on Christmas Day when I was five years old -- I climbed the two flights up in our NY walk up to her apartment to show her the plastic high heels and doll with bassinet that she gave me for Christmas. I was quite surprised to find that she was in labor with my dear cousin, Lisa, and was promptly taken in a taxi to the hospital. This is such a vivid memory of mine. When our families would later move to Cedar Lake in Denville, we became regular visitors at Aunt Theresa and Uncle Frank's house. Their front lawn was a great sledding hill and hiking around in their back woods always turned up an adventure. Aunt Theresa always comforted us when we were sad and we had many wonderful family meals around her table. There would be sleep overs and a lot of laughing by us kids. One night a storm caused a huge tree to fall across the road and into the front yard. Power and phones were dead. We opened the window and shouted for a while to wake up the neighbors to help us. When I would have children of my own, she always remembered them on their Birthdays and at Christmastime. When my cousins and I remember her we surely talk about the well stocked pantry and fridge she always seemed to have. Devil dogs, Ice Cream Pops, Candy, Cake, on and on and on. Certainly this was one of the reasons we would navigate to 17 Cypress Drive, but by and large the most important one was that she was always happy to see us and treated us just like her own -- chores and all!

Dear Lisa - I am so sorry for your loss. It sounds like you have spent much time with your mom during this journey, and that is such a blessing. It doesn't matter how old we are, she is still your mom - yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Treasure your memories, think of her often, and know how much you shared with her. May she rest in peace, and may you find your peace in knowing she is home. With sympathy - Michele McCue-Shaffer
