John R. Ball, 87, passed away peacefully at home, on Saturday, November 2nd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Nov. 6th at 10 am at Saint Bernards Church, Rockaway Township. Committal prayers to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Memorial Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 5th from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Norman Dean Home Services, 16 Righter Ave. Denville. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name to the Mount Pleasant Animal Shelter, 194 Rt. 10 East Hanover, NJ 07936, would be greatly appreciated. Born in Newark, John was one of three children. After High School, he was drafted into the US Army where he proudly served his country during WWII. Upon his return to the states, he met and married Margaret Harty and the couple started their family. John worked as an engineer for NJ Bell for 38 years before his retirement on 1985. He was very family oriented and handy, always jumping in to help build something or help out with a project. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Surviving are his loving wife Margaret of 60 years; his six children Mary Paskow, Jean Hullihan, Michael (Michele), James (Lynn), John (Gretchen) and Janet McAndris (John); 19 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brother Raymond and many more loving relatives and friends.
