Born and raised in Bronx, NY, John met and later married his childhood sweetheart Joan Collins. After high school, he enlisted in the US Army where he proudly served his country until the time of his honorable discharge. He attended Columbia University, graduating in 1954. He began his career as a chemical engineer and retired from Warner Lambert twenty years ago. John was one of the original parishioners and still an active member of Resurrection Parish with his wife. He was an avid reader, sailor and bowler, but above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Predeceased by his son John Jr., he is survived by his wife Joan (nee Collins) of 58 years; his children Diane Kwiatkoski, Barbara Luna (Daniel), and David Leahy (Kim); his three grandchildren Janna Foster and John and Daniel Leahy; his brother Francis Leahy; and many more loving relatives and friends.
