Maybelle Dorothy Roach (Thorn) passed away at Merry Heart Nursing Home in Boonton Twp., NJ on April 14, 2012.
She was 94 years old.
Born in Jersey City she was raised in Rochelle Park and lived in Cooks Pond in Denville for 10 years before moving to the Rock Ridge section of Denville, NJ in 2010.
Maybelle was a member of the Church of the Savior and the Denville Senior Citizens Club.
She attended the St. Mary's Hospital Nursing School from 1936 - 1939 and worked there in the maternity department from 1955 until she retired in 1977.
She was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, John G. Roach in 1984.
She was also predeceased by her parents Lena & Frederick Thorn and her Grandparents Steadman & Sarah Thorn and Frank & Theresa Nordman.
Maybelle is survived by her children Robert James and his wife Carol of Denville, NJ Patricia Cushman & Anthony Konefal of Hawley, PA and Barbara Izzo and her husband Michael of Milford, PA.
She is also survived by her granddaughter Tracey Roach Koast and her husband LTC Scott Koast of West Point, NY and her Great Grandchildren Samantha Caroline and Daniel Anthony Koast.
A funeral service will be held on Friday April 20, 2012 at 10:00AM at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834, Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Fairview, NJ. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday from 3-8PM.
