Kenneth F. Gallagher, 86, passed away on Thursday November 24, 2011 in Morris Township., NJ.
Kenneth was born in Hoboken NJ and was a resident of Denville since 1966. He was a United States Navy Veteran of WWII. After the war he graduated from Seton Hall University and also received his Master’s Degree in Education. He was employed by the Hoboken Board of Education for many years. He taught accounting, and became the Vice-Principal of Hoboken High School and was promoted to Principal of the Demarest Elementary School and retired in 1993. Kenneth was a member of St. Mary’s Church and served as an Extraordinary Minister and as a Lector, and was an member and Past Commander of the VFW Post 2519 in Denville.
Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Anna “Nancy” Gallagher, his children and their spouses, Michael and Ellen Gallagher, Maureen and Peter O’Halloran, Daniel and Patricia Gallagher, Kenneth J. and Catherine Gallagher, Robert and Elizabeth Gallagher, and Anne Marie and Terry McHugh, and his 18 grandchildren and two great grandchildren, and his brother John and Geraldine Gallagher.
Kenneth’s funeral will be conducted from Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ (please light a candle in memory of Kenneth and read complete obituary on website at www.normandean.com), on Wednesday November 30th at 8:45am for a 10am Mass of Christian Burial; Service at St. Mary’s Church Denville,NJ entombment at Holy Rood Cemetery, Morristown, NJ. Relatives and friends will be on Tuesday November 29th at the funeral from 2-4 and 7-9pm. In lieu of flowers please make donations to, Alzheimer’s Association 400 Morris Ave., Denville, NJ 07834.
