Kathleen M. (Kathy) Olenowski (nee Kiernan) age 55 passed away Thursday, September 15, 2011 at St. Clare's Hospital, Denville. Kathy was born in Jersey City, NJ and resided in Hazlet NJ before moving to Denville in 1965.
Kathy is survived by her loving husband, John, her daughters Megan and Caitlin and her mother, Carol Kiernan. Her father, Bernard predeceased her in 2006. She is also survived by her brother,Kevin and his wife Leah, Flanders, NJ, her sister, Kelly and her husband Randy Stevens, Denville. Also by many loving Olenowski family members, friends and many neices and nephews including Patrick, Brandon and Corey.
Kathy graduated from Morris Catholic High School in Denville in 1974 and received her BA in Education from St. Francis College in Loretto, PA in1978. She taught Pre-School and Kindergarten at St. Mary's School in Denville, was a Manager at her parents' restaurant, Kiernan's Pub in Flanders NJ and for the last eight years has owned and operated Surprises in Store, Denville NJ.
Visitation will be held at Norman Dean Home for Funeral Services, 16 Righter Ave, Denville, NJ. on Sunday, September 18, 2011 from 2:00-6:00PM. A 10:00 AM Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Church, Meyers Av. Denville NJ September 19, 2011 followed by interment at the Denville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations to The Denville Hurricane Relief Fund, in memory of Kathy Olenowski, 43 Myers Ave. Denville, NJ 07834 will be greatly appreciated.
