Winona "GG" M. McIntyre (McLester) passed away at Compassionate Care Hospice in Dover, NJ on August 19, 2011.
She was 85 years old.
Born in Birmingham, AL, she lived in the Indian Lake section of Denville, NJ since 1955. She was a member of the Oneida Tribe of Indians of Wisconsin. Winona had completed
her nursing training at St. Barnabas Hospital in Newark, NJ and worked as a Registered Nurse at Greystone State Hospital in Parsippany, NJ for 35 years before retiring in 1993.
She was predeceased by her husband Everette "Red" McIntyre in 1986, her son Richard McIntyre in 1995, and her son William in 2008.
Her children Nancy Gordon of Lake Hopatcong and Donna Balzarini of Flanders, NJ survive her. She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren Jack Gordon, Cynthia Gloss, Melissa Gordon, Jennifer Cooney, Richard Balzarini, Michael McIntyre and Jonathan McIntyre as well as her great Grandchildren Tiffany, Todd, Addison, Jaclyn, Richie, Nikoma, Kylie and Alexander. Her siblings Wendell McLester and Mary Greendeer and her sister in-law Pearl McLester all of Oneida, WI, and Inez McLester of Winter Haven, FL also survive her as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will begin at 12:30PM at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834 on Wednesday August 24, 2011 for at 2:00PM graveside service at Locust Hill Cemetery in Dover, NJ.
