Obituary of Frederick "Rick" W. Herrick

Frederick "Rick" Herrick, 61, died on Tuesday June 21, 2011 while on a fishing trip with his friends to the Florida Keys and Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. Rick was born in Newark and had lived in Paterson before moving to Rockaway in 1964. He later moved to Lake Hopatcong in 2000. He graduated from Morris Hills High School Class of 1968. He worked in the Laborers Union Local #519 out of Boonton, NJ. for twenty five years retiring in 1999. After retiring he has been a bar tender at the Denville American Legion Post #390. Rick had a tremendous zest for life and he never gave up. He has been a faith full member of the Tri-County Motorcycle Club for forty years, and his love for fishing was shown in that he would go fishing in a puddle. He is predeceased by his parents Frederick and Beatrice Herrick and his brother Charles Herrick. He is survived by his wife Lorraine (Orangeo) whom he married on February 27, 1971 in St. Cecilias RC Church in Rockaway, NJ. His other loves were his daughters Kathy Stevenson and her husband Chris, and Kim Herrick, as well as his 3 grandchildren Jessie Stevenson, Michael Miranda and Callie Stevenson. He is also survived by his sisters Gail Keller of NJ, Judy Antonelli of NJ, and Bonnie Herrick of Rockaway. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday June 25, 2011 at 9:30 AM at the Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave. Denville, NJ www.normandean.com.
