John D. Leahy Jr. passed away suddenly Saturday, June 18 in Branchville, NJ.
John was a 1981 graduate of Randolph High School, and went on to establish NorthStar Oil in Manhattan. He is the loving father of sons John W. and Daniel P., both who shared with their father a passion for sailing at their summer home at Culver Lake.
John is survived by his parents John D. and Joan V. (Collins) Leahy, Denville, NJ, his best friend and sister Diane Kwiatkoski, and older sister Barbara Luna, as well as his partner in crime, younger brother David Patrick of Memphis, TN.
He will be remembered by his family and many close friends, including Victoria Conlin, for his boundless generosity, his love of sailing, and his gregarious nature.
John’s funeral will be conducted from Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ www.normandean.com, (please light a candle in memory of John on web site), on Wednesday June 22nd at 9am for a 10:30am Mass of Christian Burial service at Resurrection Church, Randolph, NJ, interment committal service at Holy Rood Cemetery, Morristown., NJ. Relatives and friends will be received on Tuesday June 21st at the funeral home from 2-4 and 7-9PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
