Patria (Mercado) Caro passed away at St. Clare's Hospital in Denville, NJ on March 18, 2011.
She was 98 years old.
Born in Aguada, Puerto Rico, she moved to the U.S. in 1930 and lived in the Bronx, NY before moving to Denville, NJ 40 years ago.
Patria had been a homemaker and enjoyed her family.
She was predeceased by her husband Valerio Caro in 1969.
Patria is survived by her daughter Daisy Dreisbach of Denville, NJ, her sons Edward and his wife Brunilda Caro of Pearl River, NY, and V. Thomas Caro of Chantilly, VA. She is also survived by her 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and her brothers Stephen of FL, Caesar of Darien, CT and Raymond of Manhattan, NY.
Funeral services will begin at 9AM on Tuesday March 22, 2011 at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834 and going to St. Mary's Church in Denville for a 10AM Liturgy of Christian burial Mass. Interment will follow at St. Raymond's Cemetery in the Bronx, NY. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9PM. Please light a candle in her memory at www.normandean.com.
