Obituary of Evelyn Furst

Evelyn Olsen Furst, 91, died on Thursday January 20, 2011 at Pine Haven Nursing Home in Philmont, NY.
She was the daughter of Gustave and Aagot (Kristoffersen) Olsen was born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Rutherford, NJ before moving to Lake Telemark section of Rockaway where she had spent her summers since the 1920's. She had also lived in Tamarac, Fla.
While living in Lake Telemark Evelyn was active in her church, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church as well as the Sons of Norway Nor-Bu Lodge #427.
Evelyn had worked for Lobell's Clothing Store in Morristown, NJ for many years until retiring in 1987.
Her husband Martin Furst died in 1992, and her son Martin Furstenau "Brian Furst" died in 2006.
She is survived by her daughter and her husband Dorothy and Joe Bahnatka of Red Hook, NY and five grandchildren, Lisa and Bob Hamill of Lake Telemark, Brian and Lissette Furstenau of Cresco, PA, Tina and Scott Hart of Rockaway, Leigh Anne Bahnatka and Bryn and Wes Dier all of Rhinebeck, NY and seven great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Monday Jan. 24, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave. Denville, NJ, www.normandean.com. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday afternoon from 2-4 & 7-9PM. Please light a candle on our web site in memory of her.
