Audrey Sabia, 82, passed away at Franciscan Oaks Health Care Center, Denville, on Friday August 9, 2013. She was the daughter of the late Adrian and Neila Vander Vliet.
Audrey was born in Wallington, NJ and was a longtime resident of Lake Hopatcong before moving to Rockaway Township. Audrey received her degree in Education from Paterson University. She was a Teacher in East Rutherford for 10 years and Administrator of Special Projects in Jefferson Township for 14 years retiring in 1986.
Audrey was predeceased by her husband Raphael Sabia Jr. in 2009.
Audrey is survived by her brother, Guy Vander Vliet and his wife Nancy, and her sister, Lois Hettel, and nephews, Peter Hettel and his wife Laurie, Keith Hettel and his wife Kathleen, and Christian Vander Vliet, and her niece, Megan Vander Vliet, and many great –nieces and great-nephews.
Services will be held Monday, August 12th at 10:30am at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ. Interment will follow in Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa, NJ. Friends and relatives will be received on Sunday August 11th at the funeral home from 2-4 and 7-9pm.
