Flora (Nee Hermann) Pearson, was born May 31, 1910 in New York City, NY, died on August 8, 2010. She was a resident of Sound Beach, NY and was temporally residing in Denville, NJ.
She is survived by her daughter Flora P. Brophy of Denville, her nephew Louis Brousseau and his wife Marie of Sound Beach, NY, her “adopted” daughter Catherine Pivowar of Sparta, NJ, and dear friends in Sound Beach, Long Island, NY.
Mrs. Pearson was a life-long resident of New York.
In her youth she studied dance, she was a supernumerary at the Metropolitan Opera and a Girl Scout Troop Leader.
Over her long employment career, Mrs. Pearson worked as an Executive Assistant at Black Starr Frost & Gorham, NYC, Banker’s Commercial Corporation, NYC, Ward Foods, NYC, and US Filter Corporation, NYC from which she retired in the early 1970’s.
In her retirement years she was an active founding member of her local AARP chapter in the town of Brookhaven, Long Island. She enjoyed gardening, swimming, music, and being with her family and friends.
