Alice June Stole
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother
Alice June Stole, formerly of Denville, passed away suddenly at home Sunday evening. She was 72 years old.
Born Alice June Knollhuff, on October 18, 1937, in Mountain View, NJ. She was a wonderful wife and mother whose warm smile and kind heart touched all who knew her. We were all embraced by her generous spirit.
She started her working life as a telephone operator, but it was her career at St. Clare's Hospital in Denville that she cherished the most. After starting her family with 5 children, she went back to work and spent the next 27 years working as a Unit Receptionist in the Maternity Ward. It's quite certain that she loved her job there, not only for all the wonderful friends she made, but also because she was able to be with babies. One of her greatest joys in life was her children; from her first grandchild to her latest great grandchild, she was equally proud of all.
She was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Kenneth Stole, whom she continued to miss every day. She leaves behind her children: Jacqueline Nora Holinko of Mt. Bethel, PA; James Leith IV of Gibsonton, FL; JoAnne Kristina Stole of Blairstown, NJ; and Kenneth Raymond Stole of Spring Hill, TN; and was predeceased by her daughter Donna Jean Leith.
She has 8 grandchildren: Joseph Holinko, Kim Walge, Dana Holinko; James V, Christopher, and Kyle Leith; Seth and Ethan Stole. She also has 3 great grandchildren: Landon and Cooper Walge and Evan Russell Holinko.
She has four sisters and 3 brothers: Jane Bigsby of Cape May, NJ; Dorothy Young of Denville, NJ; Sharon Breitweiser of Indianland, SC; Marlene "Cookie" Haughney of Moriarity, NM; Robert Knollhuff of Phoenix, AZ; Richard Knollhuff of Payson, AZ; and Ronald Knollhuff who recently passed away. She had many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She had countless other good friends and acquaintances and was able to make a new one wherever she went. She missed her life in Denville, especially spending time at the Senior Center, but was making new friends in her new community in Mt. Bethel, PA. She will be missed by all who knew her, but she will be laid to rest with her husband in Denville.
Funeral services will be held at 11AM on Saturday July 24, at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834. Friends may visit on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9PM. Please light a candle in her memory at: www.normandean.com.
