Eleanor Ann Listes, 79, passed away peacefully, with her family by her side on Thursday, July 25th. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 29th at 10:30 am at Saint Bernard Church, Wharton. Eleanor was born in NY to the late George and Eleanore Michaels. She graduated from Hackensack Hospital Nursing School and soon after met Andrew Listes. The couple married in 1956 and settled in Hillsdale, NJ where they would raise their family. Eleanor worked as the school nurse in Hillsdale for many years. In 2003, she and her husband moved to Rockaway after their retirement. She was an exceptional homemaker and RN, loving wife and mother and above all; she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Predeceased by her sister Elaine Michaels; she is survived by her loving husband Andrew of 57 years; her son Andrew and his wife Lynn; her daughter Janine Kroner and her husband Gerard; her six adoring grandchildren Andrew (Melissa), Katharine and Mark Listes and Daniel, Garrett and Renee Kroner; sister Patricia Burroughs; brothers George and Kenneth Michaels; and many more loving relatives and friends.
