Obituary of Neil Blanchard

Neil Blanchard, died on April 14, 2010 in Ormond Beach, Fla.
He was born in Dover, NJ and grew up in Denville and had lived in Long Valley before moving to Ormond Beach in 2000.
He had served in the U. S. Army during peacetime.
Neil was the Manager of the Dairy Dept. at Dickerson's Foodtown, in Denville for over 30 years. After moving to Fla. he went to work for Publix Supermarkets until the time of his death.
He was a quite and gentle person who lived a life of helping others and inspiring volunteers. His volunteer work in Denville included helping to build the Playground at Gardner Field, his membership in the Denville Historical Society, where he and his wife were founders of "The Garden of Thyme and Roses at the Museum, his work with the Rotary Street Festival, the Harvest Festival, the Joey Bella Beefsteak Dinners, where he preformed in many lipsinks, the Denville Chamber of Commerce events and Denville's 75th Anniversary Parade.
He had received Denville Rotary's Paul Harris Fellowship Award, and was named Volunteer of the Year for the Lakeland Hills Y.M.C.A.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Bev "Dee Dee" Blanchard who affectionately nicknamed him "Honeydo". He is also survived by his loving pets, and three sisters Joan Jackson of Rockaway, Marion Lowthert and Gloria Moore both of N.J.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday June 19, 2010 at 10:00 AM at St. Francis Chapel on Pocono Rd. Denville, NJ.
